LexCorp Meta Human data

LexCorp data on Metahumans.

"Yes, the Metahuman Thesis! More likely than not, these exceptional beings live among us, the basis of our myths. Gods among men upon our, our little blue planet here!"
Lex Luthor to Senators Finch and Barrows[src]

Metahumans (term coined by Lex Luthor[1]) are a class of individuals that possess extraordinary powers, traits, and abilities through either accidents, foreign exposure, or a unique genetic composition, making them considerably more powerful than regular humans.

History

"It is our time. The sun is setting and magic is rising. The metahumans are but the first sign of the change."
Enchantress to the Suicide Squad regarding metahumans[src]

Metahumans were under investigation by LexCorp Industries. The data that Lex Luthor collected on them was part of the LexCorp surveillance stolen by Bruce Wayne. This revealed their existence to him and then to Wonder Woman, whom he later shared the Metahuman data with.

After Superman's funeral, Batman and Wonder Woman discussed bringing together the metahumans seen in Luthor's files in the case of another global calamity. When Diana asked for the reason why Wayne wanted to assemble these people and why they would be willing to help, Bruce replied, saying that he "just had a feeling" (in reality, he was following the instructions given to him by the scarlet time-traveler that appeared in one of his "dreams").[1]

Amanda Waller, the director of ARGUS, formed the Suicide Squad, a team of disposable incarcerated criminals with exceptional abilities, skills, and powers which could be forced to battle against formidable metahumans that threaten the human race. Though joining unwillingly, Task Force X (as the Squad was officially called), under the leadership of Rick Flag, successfully defeated the powerful Enchantress and her brother Incubus, both ancient and extremely powerful metahumans fixated on taking over the world. For their help in saving the world, the Suicide Squad members were given 10 years taken off their respective prison sentences.[2]

Known Metahumans

  • General Ludendorff: Ludendorff temporarily enhanced his strength and durability to incredible superhuman levels by breathing in enhancement gas conconcted by Doctor Poison. With his amplified powers, he was capable of fighting Wonder Woman weaponless.[3]
  • Diana Prince/Wonder Woman: Diana is an Amazon-Olympian God hybrid and has been alive for roughly 5 millennia while retaining the appearance of a young woman. She also possesses superhuman abilities far superior to humans and even hardened Amazon warriors, due to her being a demigoddess daughter of Zeus. She can even combat the incredible might of Ares or Doomsday himself for a lengthy period of time.[1]
  • Victor Stone/Cyborg: After Victor was horribly injured, his father used a Mother Box to save him. It ended up attaching itself to Victor's biology and began to cybernetically enhance him as well as regenerating his lost body parts with techno-organic parts.[1]
  • Barry Allen/Flash: Barry has shown the ability to move great distances within seconds or less. He was caught saving a store clerk being robbed by taking down the thief in the blink of an eye. It appears that his ability has some connection to electricity, as blue sparks of electricity could be seen momentarily after he passed through somewhere.[1]
  • Arthur Curry/Aquaman: Arthur has shown the ability to breathe underwater, swim at supersonic speeds, and perform feats of superhuman strength. He was found by a deep sea exploration crew; when he encountered one of its drones, he ripped it apart with his trident and swam away, breaking the sound barrier moments after departing.[1]
  • Waylon Jones/Killer Croc: Waylon was born with a genetic mutation which gave him reptilian skin, as well as a level of enhanced strength and durability.[2]
  • Chato Santana/El Diablo: Chato was born with the ability to manipulate fire and create flames with his hands without hurting himself.[2]
  • June Moone/Enchantress: June was possessed by Enchantress, an inter-dimensional malevolent entity who gave her mystical powers.[2]
  • Incubus: Brother of Enchantress, an inter-dimensional powerful and malevolent entity that walked the earth for thousands of years.[2]
  • Eyes of the Adversary: Former humans, irreversibly transformed by Enchantress into grey monstrous beings with enhanced strength and durability, as well as a fierce loyalty to their mistress.[2]
