The Power Ring is a device, presumably some manner of advanced technology, worn by members of the Green Lantern Corps, an intergalactic peacekeeping force, that allows its wielder to project green energy constructs shaped by their will. The ring also allows its wielder to fly. The ring itself is also capable of flying independently, which it does after its user dies.

At 3,000 B.C., a Green Lantern, Yalan Gur, arrived to aid the humans, Amazons, and Atlanteans in driving back hordes of Parademons. Gur fought off Parademons with his power ring by generating beams of light but after Darkseid stabbed and killed Gur, the dead Green Lantern's power ring flew from his severed hand. Darkseid then attempts to get a hold of the ring before he was shot by an arrow and the ring then flew into parts unknown.[1]
Capabilities[]
With the Ring, a Green Lantern can generate solid constructs of light-based energy, as well as allowing their users to fly. During Darkseid's attempted terraformation of Earth thousands of years ago, the capabilities of the rings used during that time period such as the one Yalan Gur used were very limited compared to those used millennia later and only allowed for flight and the ability to generate beams of light to battle Parademons. Upon a Lantern's death, their ring would fly off their former user's finger.[2]
